Saw Trax Mfg., Inc. was founded in 1988 by Naval Aviator Michael Della Polla, who was not satisfied with the design of cutting guides used by circular saws at the time.  Saw Trax started making panel saw kits in 1992. In 1996, Saw Trax came out with their first panel saw and the company has been improving their panel saw design ever since. Now the machine is a not just a panel saw but a glass cutter, mat cutter, aluminum cutter and panel router.
